Gareth Grover joins the artist family
30 April 2016
Gareth Grover is the latest drummer to join the Premier family. Gareth is currently holding down the rhythm section for Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.
Fresh off the back of touring the UK for the Kerrang Tour 2016, he and the band are looking forward to a summer of festivals across the continent including Roskilde, Download and Leeds/Reading, before the release of their second album later this year.
Gareth’s love of rhythm was nurtured from a young age, first abusing chopsticks and a tambourine at the age of 8, enthralled by his father’s eclectic collection of Led Zeppelin, Prince and The Police records. Then followed a wide ranging musical education, exploring a number of different percussion instruments, and seeing him settle to be most at home behind the drum set.
Gareth’s playing experience embraces every angle of the musical spectrum; having set the groove behind rock and pop acts, propping up concert bands and orchestras, as well as following his love of all things jazz behind a number of small ensembles and big bands. When not performing, Gareth maintains a busy teaching schedule, as well as composing and arranging for TV, advertising and educational use.
On choosing Premier, Gareth said, “Some of the most succulent drum sounds I’ve ever experienced have come from Premier drums, old and new. I’m proud to be part of a family with such a rich history in the percussive arts, still producing superb instruments that stand up to the test of time.”
