August update from our General Manager

August update from our General Manager

Hi all!

It’s been another massively busy month for everyone at Premier; the team are working hard to ensure the new and improved products due to be shown at NAMM in January 2015 are ready and for the first time in a number of years I’m very pleased to announce that we will have our own stand as ‘The Premier Drum Co.’ at the show. This is very exciting for us, and another great step forward in redefining both our brand and drum set business – more details to follow next month on this.

The first review of our recently launched Modern Classic Club kit has been published, courtesy of Rhythm magazine in the UK. It’s a phenomenal review and we really couldn’t be prouder. We received a 5 star rating for the kit both overall and across all categories, which is rare for any product. Modern Drummer will also be reviewing the kit in an issue out later this year, so keep an eye out for that!

We’ll be extending the Modern Classic range, and further details will follow once we’ve finished discussing the range with our distributors and dealers over the next few weeks. During September and for the next 6 – 12 months we’ll be focusing a lot of our efforts on improving our supply chain and distribution network. We know that there are players who are frustrated about the lack of availability of our products in some territories and we will be working hard to resolve this; there are issues we need to sort out and they are at the top of our list of priorities throughout the rest of 2014 and well into 2015. As always, I’ll update you whenever I can on our progress with this.

We had a great time (despite the weather!) at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow earlier this month. We’re seeing more and more bands choosing Premier, demonstrated this year by 6 of the 12 Grade One finalists playing our drums. Massive congratulations to Stephen Creighton and the St Laurence O’Toole drum corps who were crowned ‘Champion of Champions’ for their drumming across the season and to Field Marshal Montgomery who were awarded ‘Champion of Champions’ overall. Premier drummers had success across all of the grades on the day, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved. Well done to everyone including: Field Marshall Montgomery, Scottish Power, Cullybackey, Dowco Triumph Street and Canterbury Caledonian – see you next year!

That’s it for now. As always, huge thanks to everyone for continuing to support us and I’ll update you again next month.

  1. As a Premier drummer (for 30 yrs) who now lives in Canada I am glad to hear you are working on the availability of your drums. Hope that means it will be easier to get my hands on them over here too!

  4. Do ýou have any right to use the title or to trade as The Premier Drum Company? That company died in the 1980s leaving debts unhonoured.
