I have toured the world with KT Tunstall for the past 7 years and my Premier kit has never let me down. The drums are well constructed, consistently sound great, easy to tune and look fantastic. I am constantly complimented on my sound by the audience, other musicians and most importantly other drummers. I can go to work on stage every night and know my kit will deliver the goods and allow me to enjoy the show!
Information
Luke’s professional career started after a stint at Drumtech and University, studying music, when his band, Addict signed a deal with V2 records. They recorded albums in LA and New Orleans and spent months touring in the U.S.A. and Europe. Unfortunately the band never got “that” break and after four years they ended their relationship with the label and the band broke up.
A year followed of jobbing around and doing various gigs and sessions before Luke got the gig with Joe Strummer and the Mescalero’s. This was his regular gig for two years, in which time they toured the States, Japan and Europe and made a record but during that time Luke was also doing sessions with UNKLE, Paul Heaton (Beautuful South), Cerys Matthews (Catatonia), Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) and he also started playing with KT Tunstall before she had a record deal.
It was on his final tour with Joe Strummer that John Squire from the Stone Roses saw a gig and expressed an interest in Luke playing with him. Joe’s untimely death meant that Luke was available to play with John and for the following two years this became his regular gig. They toured the UK and Japan and made a record. During this time Luke also toured and recorded with Bermudan artist Heather Nova, performed on telvision with Bic Runga from New Zealand, toured the UK and Europe with a band called Half Cousin from Orkney, recorded with Damien Saez”(French solo artist) and with Tina Dico (Zero Seven).
Whilst continuing throughout this time working with KT Tunstall, Luke witnessed her career go from strength to strength and performed on her multi platinum selling debut record and toured the UK and Europe extensively. Following the U.S. release of the album Luke has spent over a year touring the U.S. (and Japan) with KT Tunstall to ever increasing audiences with the album reaching platinum status in the U.S. on the back of just one single. They performed on several UK, US and European TV shows including David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, Regis and Kelly, the Brits (where KT picked up the Best Female Artist award as well as being nominated for Best Live Act), TOTP, CDUK, Jools Holland (four times including the Hootenanny show), Taratata (France) , Edinburgh’s televised Hogmanay show, T in the Park, Glastonbury and GMTV.
The follow up album “Drastic Fantastic” was completed in 2007 and was followed by more intensive worldwide touring which included Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South America. They also made several return journeys to the States to ever increasing audiences and a hectic summer of 2008 playing many festivals.
2009 was dedicated to time off, writing material for a new album and building a studio. 2010 sees Luke in Berlin laying down the rhythm tracks for the new KT Tunstall album due to be released later this year and will be followed by lots of touring with an exciting new live show.
